FSANZ’s collaboration with Health Canada regarding risk assessments of GM foods

In an age of globalisation, it is becoming increasingly important for domestic authorities to coordinate and collaborate internationally. This article considers how Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) engages in the international sphere. FSANZ is the government agency that sets and maintains the bi-national Food Standards Code for Australia and New Zealand. This article looks at the recent agreement made between FSANZ and Health Canada with respect to the sharing of safety risk assessments for genetically modified foods.
