Joe LedermanExecutive Chairman & Managing Principal

Joe Lederman is the founder, Executive Chairman and Managing Principal of FoodLegal.

In 2005, Joe was one of the founders of the global Food Lawyers’ Network and has presented numerous papers on important food law uses, including the interfaces between functional foods, special-purpose foods, complementary medicines, dietary supplements and therapeutic goods, health claims and nutrition claims in Australia; environmental claims for food, nanotechnology legal frameworks in food processing and food fraud and traceability issues in regulatory food product integrity.

Joe is accredited by the Law Institute of Victoria as a Specialist in Business Law and has been (2006-2009) an Adjunct Professor of Food Law at Deakin University specialising in Food and Nutrition Law.

Joe is also the editor in chief of FoodLegal Bulletin and FoodLegal Inhouse.

Cheryl McLeodChief Executive Officer

Cheryl leads the team and manages the design and execution of the firm's initiatives.

Cheryl’s background in professional services and corporate, coupled with her experience in new product development and product commercialisation, enables her to understand client requirements and build practical solutions that ensure value creation for both parties.

Cheryl holds a Master of Business Administration from Melbourne University, and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Information Technology from Bond University.

He also oversees food regulatory issues and product risk assessment and advice in relation to new product development projects and product marketing campaigns.

Charles holds a Bachelor of Law & Legal Practice as well as an Arts degree majoring in Spanish and Drama from Flinders University, and a post-graduate diploma in Film & Television from the University of Melbourne.

Rozita has considerable international experience and active interests in food technology, food safety, food standards and food policy.

Rozita is a scientist and obtained her Master of Science in food safety at Wageningen University Netherlands, the European centre for food science and technology.

Currently she is doing her PhD research at the University of Melbourne in meat quality and biochemistry hilst engaged part-time at Foodlegal.
