In December 2010, the Australia and New Zealand Food Regulation Ministerial Council (Ministerial Council) stated that concerns over mixing caffeinated energy drinks with alcohol would need to be addressed. The Ministerial Council referred this issue to the Ministerial Council on Drug Strategy for consideration. The result of the review might lead to further regulation of caffeinated alcoholic beverages (CABs) in Australia.
